
Instructional Design
The Association of Talent Development defines instructional design as, "the practice of creating learning experiences to support long term learning." Instructional designers makes the best use of a learner's time. They identify problems and needs up front; formulate objectives that will address the needs; and deliver the information in an engaging, memorable way. A method to evaluate the effectiveness of the learning experience is built in, so there is no need to wonder about the quality of the materials. ​

Performance Support Tools for New Students
About this Project
These student support tools were created for Winthrop University's Office of Online Learning (WOOL) as part of a graduate team project. The team included Amber Burtless, Ashlee Chance, Irielle Davis, and me. We performed in-depth analysis of the performance problems new students experience with Blackboard Ultra. We created five tools to address these problems. The performance tool I developed was the Blackboard Ultra Reference Guide, which you may view below.
